Well hey there and happy weekending! Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I decided to write up a list of five favorites from the week, mostly because I didn’t photo-document well enough to do a week recap. (#reallife) If you have a week recap or a list of favorites lately, feel free to drop the link in the comments below!
Forever and always. Lately, I’ve been taking coffee, half and half or almond milk or cream or whatever I feel like, cinnamon, and collagen and blending it up in the until it’s nice and frothy. Then I pour it over ice in a mason jar. I really like collagen in my coffee and it’s super good for your skin, hair, and nails. That being said, did my life change when I started taking collagen? No. I’m enjoying it in this season of my life, but I’m not going over the top.
Vanilla mocha lotion.
I picked up a bottle of this lotion from One Fair World in Salem. The exact one isn’t on Amazon, but it’s similar to this lotion in this scent. It’s super moisturizing and I love that it’s handcrafted with unrefined, fair trade shea butter. But my favorite part is scent! Vanilla and mocha? You can’t go wrong. It’s not too strong, either.
Like, non-school related, fiction books. In elementary/middle school, I’d check out fifteen books from the library and be done in a few days. That is sadly not the case anymore. But I have been reading more fiction this summer and I’m excited about it. I mentioned in my week in the life video that I was reading ‘At the Waterline’. I finished it (highly recommend) and I’m now working on ‘A Man Called Ove’ (also highly recommend). It’s sweet and funny, but also deftly explores deep topics. I’ve cried–but also laughed out loud–more than once already. It reminds me of the movie Up, which is one of my all-time favorites.
Another summer reading ritual I’ve been enjoying? I asked for and received the book ‘You are Free’ by Rebekah Lyons (another highly recommend) for my birthday back in March, and I decided to save it to read slowly over the summer. And so the last week or so, I’ve been reading a chapter each night before I go to bed, usually while swaying out in the hammock in our backyard. A better way to end a summer evening? Mmmmm, no. Well, maybe if ice cream was involved.
Iced tea in decorated cups at work.
I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
Walks forever. Often with podcasts. Sometimes in silence. Occasionally while talking on the phone with a friend. These days, usually in the evening, when it’s cooled down and I feel like unwinding.
