Here we are for Random Roots 2–second round!
Lately, I’ve been working on tuning in to if and how I feel like moving my body. Some mornings I wake up and I know exactly what I feel like doing. Like a few mornings ago, I really felt like doing a few tabata rounds. Or on Friday, after working for hours, a walk around the block was just what I needed. Other days, it’s hard to tell if moving will energize me or drain me. When that happens, I usually try some gentle movement and go from there.
Last week and now this week, I’ve been feeling tired. Thus, the type of movement I usually enjoy hasn’t been appealing. I think a big part of it is I need more sleep (!!!). I’m a night owl by nature. Well, a moderate night owl. We’re not talking 3:00 am, but I always get a burst of energy around 10:00 pm or so. It’s something to work on, but for now, I’m taking it easy and trusting that the body God gave me will give me cues for how to move.
In the meantime, I’m leaving tomorrow for a short trip, and before I leave, I wanted to stop by and share a few links with you all!
Great tips and ideas for how to build a satisfying breakfast.
Speaking of breakfast, baklava overnight oats? Yes.
These pastry puff eggs are serious food inspiration. I think they’d be the cutest at a brunch party with a huge fruit salad.
These yogurt bowl ideas look delicious. I’ve been on yogurt kick for my before-bed snack. Lately, I’ve been topping it with almond butter brownies, a dollop of peanut butter, and frozen raspberries.
Ahhhh, these sweet potatoes!
(Obviously I’m still loving all things breakfast…check out all those breakfast links!)
A great read on the importance of rest days. I love her R.E.S.T. acronym.
Another great read, this one all about honoring your cravings.
Here’s an idea for your bullet journal. I started one last year, and I love this way of looking back and reflecting on things we’ve learned. Be sure to download the gorgeous (and free!) printables. You can use them even if you don’t have a bullet journal.
And if you’re thinking about starting a bullet journal, check out this blog for ideas!
I’ll see you all on Thursday for some of my thoughts on not-multitasking, like I mentioned in this post. Hope you enjoyed the Random Roots 2 edition!
