After last week, I was definitely ready for all the weekend things. Restorative weekend things. Sometimes when Saturday rolls around, launching into work feels good. Not this weekend. Luckily for me, a friend (hi Lydia!) gifted me the best self-care package, so that put me off to a good start for doing weekend things.
In the package: an adorable card, dark chocolate (you know I ate most of it already it), a beautiful journal (because I’m obsessed with journals and if I don’t write, I don’t know how to be a person), lip balm, and kombucha. Just looking inside the box was enough to make me happy.
Burrito bowls–the best Friday night fare. Black beans, rice, lettuce, sautéed cabbage, bell peppers, and mushrooms, adobo beef, avocado, sour cream, salsa, and cilantro. The works.
I’ve been reading this book…
And this one. Highly, highly recommend. It’s a beautiful petition for knowing the importance of the normal, basic moments. Also pictured: my bullet journal. I’ve been using it for school, scheduling, journaling, blog planning, pretty much everything.
There’s a snapshot of my April blog spread. On the left, I have the dates and space to write in things like when I’m going to publish a post. On the right is my brainstorming/notes/task breakdown space. Since it’s pretty early on in April, I haven’t filled it in too much yet.
There’s my March blog spread. All filled up!
Can we talk about iced lattes for a second? If I go out for coffee, I almost always order americanos. A week or so ago, I ordered an iced latte for the first (!) time (the one in this post). Fitting, I think, now that warmer weather is on the way. Since then, I’ve been making them at home.
Other weekend things: a joint birthday shopping trip with a friend. That’s when I found this cow, which I loved but didn’t buy. I would have named him Stanley.
Post-shopping dinner: Moroccan chicken salad with chickpeas and feta.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend and feel ready to tackle your week!
