Hello hello! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Thanks for stopping by the blog today. I can never say it enough–I appreciate your support in following along! Today I thought I’d share my weekend in review. Highlights of it, both because I don’t have pictures of everything and because I don’t remember everything I did. These last days of the semester have been going by in a blur. Anyways, let’s start with Friday because that’s practically the weekend.
I don’t usually get a sack lunch here at school, but I did on Friday. Salad with chicken, a banana, and a cup of chili. I wasn’t super hungry since I’d had a big breakfast, but I knew I’d need something to tide me over until after classes, so I ate the chili and saved the salad and banana for later.
In the afternoon, I realized I was out of any snacks whatsoever and was trying to figure out a way to get myself to a store because studying for finals without sustenance is a no-go. Just as I was thinking about this, I got an email notifying me I had a package. A package which turned out to be a “happy finals’ box from my aunt (thank you! I love you!), full of Trader Joe’s snacks (Trader Joe’s is my favorite place in the world, if you didn’t already know). She’s the best.
Inside was this peppermint cinnamon herbal tea. I kind of fell off the tea wagon for a few months, but now I’m hooked again. This is my new favorite tea. So Christmas-y! Plus I love any kind of peppermint tea.
Trek mix. Which I opened right away.
Pistachios. Salt and pepper pistachios = the best way to pistachio.
Seed and bean medley. Nom.
Peanut butter protein granola. I just opened the bag today and I will testify that it is delicious and has HUGE clusters and clumps.
Beet chips. Beets usually aren’t my go-to vegetable, but I LOVE these chips. A new discovery for me.
Plantain chips. Can’t go wrong.
Dark chocolate with almonds. This chocolate. It has a dark, fruity, toasted flavor.
And a jar of peanut butter. Definitely been eating this by the spoonful out of the jar.
Friday night was pretty low-key. I studied. Talked to my mom on the phone. Watched part of Phantom of the Opera with my roomies.
Saturday was cold. And long. I studied chem. Felt restless and tired of being at school. But getting outside some helped a lot.
Also, yes. I didn’t think I would be a Birks and socks person, but when it’s freezing and snowing outside, it’s just not a good idea to wear Birks alone, ya feel? Because not wearing Birks is obviously not an option…
Sunday. I went to church. Came back and had lunch. Took a nap because I’d stayed up late the night before and needed sleep. Went to the gym with my roomies. Then went out to dinner with my discipleship group where I had the BEST (maybe it’s because I haven’t had good bread in a while, but I think this was some of the best bread I’ve ever had) beer bread with honey butter. No pictures, but they baked the bread in a terra cotta flower pot, which I thought was adorable and creative. I also ordered salmon, because I’ve been missing seafood.
After dinner, we went to a candlelight service in the chapel at school. The chapel is beautiful, but it’s especially beautiful at Christmastime, with all the candles and two enormously tall Christmas trees. I wish I had a picture. Maybe next time.
Anyway, that was my weekend! Now it’s just a few more days of classes, study day, finals, and then Christmas break. Tell me all about your weekend in the comments, and if you have a blog, you’re more than welcome to drop a link to your weekend recap. (Or week recap, or any post really.) Have a lovely start to your week!
